Kristen Stewart set to star in Lie Down In Darkness
Even though Kristen Stewart has been the source of a lot of controversy as of late, it hasn’t stopped her from moving her career forward as today it was announced that she picked her next project. Kristen Stewart will be starring in director Scott Cooper’s upcoming period drama LIE DOWN IN DARKNESS. Apparently the role Kristen Stewart snagged was one Jennifer Lawrence was circling but had to drop out of due to THE HUNGER GAMES series and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST scheduling issues. No word on when LIE DOWN IN DARKNESS will start shooting but we should hear more casting announcements soon.
LIE DOWN IN DARKNESS is based on the book by William Styron and follows parents Milton and Helen Loftis and their daughters Peyton and Maudie. The story will be presented in flashbacks on the day of Peyton’s (Kristen Stewart) funeral. It sounds rather depressing as Peyton is constantly compared to her handicapped sister, has an unwanted and inappropriate relationship with her father and doesn’t get along with her mother. It’ll be quite the change for Kristen Stewart who is finishing up her TWILIGHT career and moving on to her next film CALI then most likely LIE DOWN IN DARKNESS. (Vulture)
