Lee Pace gets a role in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln

I was a huge fan of PUSHING DAISES before it was cancelled by ABC in 2009. After the show was over, I wondered what would happen with the two leads: Lee Pace and Anna Friel. Both have moved on to score some decent film roles. Although it looks like Pace is moving forward a little quicker.
The actor has signed on to Steven Spielberg’s LINCOLN. Pace will play, “New York City mayor Fernando Wood, a prominent early supporter of the Confederate cause.” Wood corresponded by mail with Abraham Lincoln quite often. The titular role in the film will be played by none other than Daniel Day-Lewis.
While the majority of us know about the life of Lincoln, this is all we have in the way of a plot so far: “Based on the best-selling book, Team of Rivals, by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, the screenplay has been written by the Pulitzer Prize winner, Tony Award winner, and Academy Award nominated writer Tony Kushner. It will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg. It is anticipated that the film will focus on the political collision of Lincoln and the powerful men of his cabinet on the road to abolition and the end of the Civil War.”
The rest of the cast includes Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, and several others.
