Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz in new images from Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained
Although Leonardo DiCaprio has made a living as the “good” guys in his films, I’ve always thought there was something sinister hiding behind that baby face and if he could just get the right part, he’d be able to show it to the world. Well, it looks like DJANGO UNCHAINED is the perfect opportunity for Leonardo DiCaprio to show off his evil side and if the two images we’ve seen of him are any indication, he’s going to stop showing up in people’s fantasies and start showing up in people’s nightmares. You can check out new images of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz below, along with a shot of Quentin Tarantino setting up a scene on the set.
Rumor has it that the first teaser trailer for DJANGO UNCHAINED will be attached to screenings of PROMETHEUS, so that should be something to look forward to on June 8th. For a recap of the plot, the film follows the story of Django (Jaime Foxx), a freed slave who is trained by former dentist Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) to be a deputy bounty hunter. After his training Django goes to the plantation of Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), a ruthless slave owner who is in possession of Django’s wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington).
The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, RZA, Anthony LaPaglia and Kerry Washington. Of course, we could also run down the list of actors that have dropped out, which includes Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and most recently, Sacha Baron Cohen. I’m still left wondering if their departure was because of the common “scheduling conflicts” or because Tarantino has finally managed to touch on a subject that even makes actors feel uncomfortable. We’ll find out when DJANGO UNCHAINED hits theaters on December 25, 2012. It sounds like the perfect Christmas treat to me. (CinemaTeaser)
