Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx are looking to reteam for Mean Business On North Ganson Street
I guess things went pretty well on the set of DJANGO UNCHAINED as the two stars of the film, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx, are looking to reteam for a film adaptation of Craig Zahler’s upcoming noel, MEAN BUSINESS ON NORTH GANSON STREET. The project would feature Leonardo DiCaprio as a tough detective that gets kicked off the police force when he breaks down after learning his wife is a hooker that has just skipped town with his money. He’s exiled to a small hellhole of a town called Victory, Missouri, where he’s teamed with another tough cop, to be played by Jamie Foxx. Foxx’s character has his own issues and he was also exiled to the town after publicly beating a suspect. But together, the new partners start cleaning up the town, where violent crime is on the rise, including crimes against policemen.
It sounds like a great role for both stars, but a film like this is going to depend heavily on a talented director. Because a good director can mean the difference between this turning out like Arnold’s THE LAST STAND or something grittier like THE DEPARTED. With A-list talent like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx, I suspect directors are going to be lining up to jump on board. This is definitely a project to get excited about, but since it doesn’t have a finished script or a director, it’s still a ways off from going in front of cameras. (Deadline)
