Leslie Mann joins Emma Watson in The Bling Ring

Leslie Mann (shown above at this year’s Academy Awards) is best known for the movies she does with her husband Judd Apatow, but she does do movies he’s not involved in, such as THE CHANGE-UP and 17 AGAIN. Granted, nothing will beat her small role in THE 40 YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, but she’s usually dependable for some good performances. Next up for Mann is Sofia Coppola’s story of spoiled youth gone bad, THE BLING RING. The story is about a group of teenagers that go on a crime spree around Hollywood, stealing from various celebrity’s homes. Mann will play the mother of two of the girls.
She joins a cast that already includes Emma Watson in what is considered the lead role. Also joining the cast are unknown to little known Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock and Taissa Farmiga. Mann is a good addition, so let’s hope Coppola can return to form with this one. The film is set to start shooting soon with a release date being pushed for 2012.
