Liam Neeson looks tough in the first photos from Taken 3
If you didn’t know they were making another Taken movie, you definitely shouldn’t be surprised to find out another one is on the way. These are quick, easy movies to make, usually with cheap, international settings and productions. The first one cost a mere $25 million and went on to make $145 million at the box office alone, while the second one cost $45 million and took in $139 million. And that’s not including the international haul or the home video profits. So these are huge payoffs for Fox. But the third one won’t be so cheap for Fox since they paid Liam Neeson a reported $20 million to return. So he almost cost the entire budget of the first film.
As for the plot, Liam Neeson has assured everyone that no one actually gets “taken” this time around, but instead, he’s framed for a crime he didn’t commit and goes on the run from the bad guys and from law enforcement. So basically, it’s any action movie ever made with a “taken” name. I’m not complaining, I like seeing Neeson as a tough guy and Bryan Mills is a cool character. TAKEN 3 also stars Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, Dougray Scott, Sam Spruell and Forest Whitaker. The Olivier Megaton directed film hits theaters on January 9th, 2015. (USA Today)
