Lily Collins welcomes Lena Headey and Jared Harris to the cast of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

With the TWILIGHT saga quickly coming to an end, it’s time for another young adult series to hit the screen this time in the form of Cassandra Clare’s THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES. Starring Lily Collins (MIRROR MIRROR), THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES follows teenager Clary Fray (Lily Collins) who finds out she is a descendant of a group called the Shadowhunters who are here to protect our world from demons. When her mom is kidnapped she must join up with a group of Shadowhunters to help rescue her. No word yet on who Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones) or Jared Harris (Mad Men) will play but we’ll keep you posted.
Along with Lily Collins, Lena Headey and Jared Harris, THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES will star: Jamie Campbell-Bower, Kevin Durand, Robert Sheehan and Jemima West. Directed by Harald Zwart the film is set to open in theaters on August 23rd, 2012. (THR)
