Mackenzie Foy joins Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Twilight: Breaking Dawn

After yesterday’s announcement that Maggie Grace was joining THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, I was expecting more announcements like this one, in which a talented but little known actor or actress would be taking on a small role. In this case, 9 year-old Mackenzie Foy will be playing Renesmee in the final chapter. Foy has appeared in a few things, most notably TV’s ‘Flash Forward’ and ‘Til Death’. Again, I don’t know who Renesmee is, but what little I know says that they’ll have to get creative with how they use her in the film, either having her be ageless or some kind of Benjamin-Button situation. Judging by her age and her looks, I thought for sure they were going to have her play Edward and Bella’s daughter.

Bill Condon is directing both films in the final chapter with the first one hitting theaters in November of 2011. The film stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz, Dakota Fanning, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene, Rami Malek, Maggie Grace and Nikki Reed.

UPDATE: Well, thanks to some astute readers, I now know that Renesmee is, in fact, Edward and Bella’s daughter. So that makes the casting perfect, as she looks like a cross between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Maybe I need to read those books after all…
