Mark Wahlberg will produce The Raven

Just to clarify so everyone doesn’t freak out, this is a movie based on the short film from Ricardo de Montreuil, not the film about Edgar Allan Poe starring John Cusack. The new film THE RAVEN is being written with Mark Wahlberg in mind for the lead. The film is described as:
Chris Black (Wahlberg) possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him. The chase is on as Chris runs for his life in this sci-fi thriller set in an alternate and futuristic Los Angeles.
No word on when filming will begin but Universal Pictures has the rights and will probably be the ones distributing. Look for Mark Wahlberg in THE FIGHTER coming out this Friday, December 10, 2010. Mr. Wahlberg has gotten a lot of praise for this role and may even end up with another Academy Award nomination.
