Martin Freeman stars in a new TV spot for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
In just over two months Peter Jackson will be releasing his first of three films in The Hobbit trilogy called THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. In order to cash in on the film there are a lot of promotions and advertising going on. First we have a new TV spot for the film which may interest you, for magazine fans you can pick up five different covers from Empire Magazine which features the main characters including Martin Freeman, and then there’s a promotional thing going on at Denny’s restaurant where you can eat breakfast items “inspired by” THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. Though to be fair it looks like they just renamed their current menu. So much excitement for a film that will officially run 2 hours and 40 minutes. According to Peter Jackson, “It’s looking like it’s going to be about ten minutes shorter than ‘Fellowship’ was. So it’s going to be officially our shortest Middle-earth yet. I mean, ‘Fellowship’ was just under three hours and this is about 2 hours 40 minutes at the moment.” Considering this is just the first of three films being based on one book with additional material from J.R.R. Tolkien, it might just be easier (and definitely quicker) to just plop down and read the original story than sit through three films.
THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY stars Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Stephen Fry, Brett McKenzie, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Ian Holm, Benedict Cumberbatch, Luke Evans and Cate Blanchett. The Peter Jackson directed film opens in theaters on December 14th, 2012. (Playlist/io9)
