Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson in Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo trailer

It’s true that Cameron Crowe has been off his game since his crowning achievement, ALMOST FAMOUS back in 2000, but even with his “bad” films, I find myself enjoying them. ELIZABETHTOWN wasn’t great by any means, but I related to the character and thought it was decent. But after watching the first trailer for WE BOUGHT A ZOO, I think Crowe might be back in the game. I didn’t like Thomas Hayden Church’s line at the end about liking humans more than animals, but that misstep aside, I enjoyed the trailer.
The film stars Matt Damon as a single father that quits his job and moves to the country, only to wind up buying a zoo. Scarlett Johansson also stars as the assumed love interest. The Cameron Crowe directed film hits theaters on December 23rd.
