Matthew McConaughey bringing The Lincoln Lawyer to Blu-ray

Lionsgate has announced that the thriller/drama THE LINCOLN LAWYER, starring Matthew McConaughey, Ryan Phillippe, Marisa Tomei, Josh Lucas, William H. Macy and Bryan Cranston, will be released on Blu-ray in a BD/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack on July 12, 2011. Directed by Brad Furman, the film follows a lawyer (McConaughey) who conducts his business from the back of his Lincoln town car. When he ends up representing a high-profile client from Beverly Hills, things start to get a little sketchy and he must surely do something to make things right. The film grossed just under $55 million at the box office, but that probably shouldn’t count as one of the marketing ploys used to promote this film was practically giving away tickets on opening weekend on the popular site Groupon.com. Sneaky, sneaky.
Personally I’m only half interested in this film even though I like Matthew McConaughey. The film looks a little pedestrian with no real twists and turns, but I’ll watch it just to see if McConaughey takes off his shirt like he does in every other film. I just want to see how the director works it in. No special features have been revealed as of today.
