Matthew McConaughey looks thin in the first image from Dallas Buyer's Club
The Toronto International Film Festival is going to be in full swing in just over a month and luckily for those of us stuck at home, we’re getting a glimpse of some of the films making their way to theaters in the next year. Here you can see a first look at Matthew McConaughey in DALLAS BUYER’S CLUB which will be a very interesting role for Mr. McConaughey and one I’m looking forward to watching.
Here’s the synopsis for DALLAS BUYER’S CLUB: In this fact-based drama, Matthew McConaughey portrays real-life Texas electrician Ron Woodroof, an ordinary man who found himself in a life-or-death battle with the medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies. In 1985, Ron was blindsided with an HIV diagnosis and given 30 days to live. With medications still restricted in the US and the country still divided over how to combat the virus, Ron procured non-toxic alternative treatments from all over the world through both legal and illegal means. To avoid government sanctions against selling non-approved medicines and supplements, Ron established a “buyers club” for fellow HIV-positive people, giving them access to his supplies.
Directed by Jean-Marc Vallee, DALLAS BUYER’S CLUB stars: Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, Jared Leto, Steve Zahn, Dallas Roberts and Kevin Rankin. It’s set to open in theaters on December 6, 2013. (Playlist)
