Max Minghella joins Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby in The Darkest Hour

I’ve always found films that dealt with a post-apocalyptic or post-alien invasion world to be fascinating.  I just like the idea of people having to re-learn how to live with only the basic necessities.  So I’m excited about the upcoming THE DARKEST HOUR, which stars Max Minghella, Olivia Thirlby and Emile Hirsche as kids living in Russia after an alien invasion.  We don’t know too much more about the script that was written by Les Bohem and Jon Spaihts, but the very basic idea of kids struggling to live in Russia after an alien invasion is very appealing.

Chris Gorak is directing the film that has a $40 million budget.  With that kind of budget, I’m guessing the aliens are still around and the kids have to learn to live with the aliens.  But I’m interested to see what Emile Hirsch can do with the role.  He’s a great actor when given a good script.
