Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones try to get romantic in new trailer for Hope Springs
A new trailer and poster for the romantic comedy HOPE SPRINGS has come out and it looks pretty cute for a rom-com. Even though you may comedy is not necessarily her cup of tea, Meryl Streep is pretty good at it and she usually excels in these types of films. Remember IT’S COMPLICATED and MAMA MIA!? She made those movies pretty fantastic and this one look like it might be decent as well. Plus it has Tommy Lee Jones who is really so curmudgeonly that you can’t help but love him. He’s the ultimate grumpy old man and I just want to give him a hug. Steve Carell is another great addition and I like that he’s in a supporting role, it should balance everything out perfectly.
HOPE SPRINGS is directed by David Frankel (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) and stars: Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, Steve Carell, Jean Smart and Elisabeth Shue. It follows a couple, Maeve (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) who have just celebrated their marriage of thirty years. However, their relationship needs a little romantic boost so they head off for a week of intense marriage counseling with Dr. Bernie Feld (Steve Carell) in hopes of reigniting their love. HOPE SPRINGS is set to hit theaters on August 10, 2012.
It’s tough not to love Meryl Streep a little. Even though I didn’t think THE IRON LADY was worthy of any Academy Awards, I was completely endeared by Meryl Streep’s speech and was happy she took home another statue. Meryl Streep is the actress all other actresses look up to for very good reason. If this woman is in a film then there is a very, very good chance that it will be pretty darn good. Meryl Streep’s next film appears to be AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY in which she will star alongside Julia Roberts and will start filming this fall with a release in 2013.
