Michael Bay and Jason Statham deny rumors of any involvement with Tranformers 4 and 5

The internet was ablaze yesterday with the news that TRANSFORMERS 4 and 5 would film back to back and that Hasbro was speaking with Michael Bay about directing again. There was even talk that Jason Statham starring in both of the films.

All that talk was a little too soon. Bay posted this to an internet forum, “I am currently not talking to Paramount on T4 and T5 despite reports. I’m looking at a lot of possibilities coming my way right now weighing options. Most likely going to be doing the low budget PAIN AND GAIN a true story crime thriller. It’s a very quick shoot and quite funny. Also just finishing the 3 disc set of the ‘Transformer’ trilogy.” Honestly, I’m not entirely surprised that this rumor started flying. Bay has no issues with putting his projects out in the open and I figured if he was going to do another TRANSFORMERS that he would just say it.

Following Bay, Statham denied the rumors of him starring in the films as well. He told MTV this, “You know, I don’t know how those things start. You read them. Someone told me about it. [But] the internet is a dangerous place. There’s a lot of stuff out there. I’ve got a lot of stuff in front of me, but Michael Bay is a talented man. This last one just made a billion dollars around the world, so people like his films. He’s a talented man.”

I think the fans are really wanting more after getting something decent from TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. The films are entirely terrible. There’s nothing cooler than seeing Autobots and Decepticons come to life on the big screen. I just don’t see something like this happening for awhile.
