Michael Fassbender in talks to join Danny Boyle's Trance

After wowing audiences in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS and giving us chills in the trailers for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, I think it’s safe to say that Michael Fassbender is going to have one heck of a career. So it’s exciting that Fassbender is in early talks to team up with Danny Boyle in the director’s next film TRANCE. The film has a fascinating premise that revolves around an art house assistant that teams up with a gangster (Fassbender) to plan a major heist. But the assistant takes a hit to the head and wakes up with amnesia. As it turns out, he was the only one that knew the location of the stolen paintings and that prompts a lot of mistrust in the gangster, who calls in a hypnotist for the assistant. The film is actually a remake of a British TV movie of the same name.
After SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and 127 HOURS, Boyle has established himself as one of the best directors working today. I’m anxious to see what he can do with a complex plot like TRANCE. If all goes well, he’ll start filming in September, but the film won’t hit theaters until late 2012.
