Michael Fassbender is set to star in the rock 'n' roll comedy Frank
If you’re of the opinion that Michael Fassbender can do no wrong, then you’re definitely of the popular opinion. Michael Fassbender has into the minds of general audiences with great roles in films like X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, PROMETHEUS and SHAME. So any time Michael Fassbender attaches himself to another project, it’s big news around here. And for his next magic trick, Michael Fassbender is set to play an eccentric lead singer of a rock ‘n’ roll band in the comedy FRANK. The film revolves around an aspiring musician, to be played by Domhnall Gleeson (who you probably know as Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter films), that joins a rock band and quickly finds himself in over his head thanks in large part to the band’s crazy lead singer (Michael Fassbender).
Irish filmmaker Leonard Abrahamson will be directing the film from a script by Peter Straughan and Jon Ronson (who wrote the book ‘The Men Who Stare At Goats’) and is actually based on real events inspired by Chris Sievey. Sievey is an English comedian and musician who formed the band The Freshies and performed as Frank Sidebottom. It looks like Michael Fassbender has another great role on his hands. (Variety)
