Michael Fassbender gets a lift as Magneto on the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past
That social network guru Bryan Singer keeps taking a break from directing as he posts more pics from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Today we get a cool shot of Michael Fassbender as Magneto presumably lifting himself with his magnetic powers. Obviously the cranes will have to be removed in post. Oh the wonders of movie magic. A lot people site their favorite character as Wolverine but for me, the relationship between Magneto and Xavier trumps it. Next summer can’t get here quick enough.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will combine both casts from the X-MEN series that will include Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Nicolas Hoult, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Jason Flemyng and Peter Dinklage. Directed by Bryan Singer the film is set to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014. (Bryan Singer via Twitter)
The official synopsis of the comics (via Wikipedia) is: The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future.
