Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan star in the first Fantastic Four trailer

THE FANTASTIC FOUR is an interesting case study of a movie that everyone expects to be bad before they even saw the first trailer. The casting didn’t help things as people don’t seem to like the idea of young twenty-somethings playing superheroes that were traditionally older. But whether or not the casting is good or bad depends on what kind of movie they’re making, which we didn’t really know until now. The other challenge for director Josh Trank is the fact that the Fantastic Four were kind of cheesy anyway and everything was made worse with two cheesy movies less than ten years ago. Add in some reported trouble on set and you have a recipe for disaster. But with all of that said, we now have our first look at the film and the truth is, it looks like an original take on the superhero genre. I don’t know if the film will do well or if the finished product will satisfy moviegoers, but I like what I see so far. Check out the first trailer below and get ready for the inevitable marketing blitz.
