Muscles and violence abound; watch the first trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire
I could have sworn when it was announced they were going to revisit the world of 300 that they were going to make a prequel to the film and not a sequel. My interest in the project has waned so much that I guess I missed the part where 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE became an actual sequel. I’m not sure there’s an audience any more for the movie, but I have to admit that the first trailer for the film doesn’t look half bad. I think if you loved 300 that this should be right up your alley. There is plenty of violence, muscle warriors and evil to make it a decent Spring flick. Check out the trailer below to see if it’s worth revisiting. Produced by Zack Snyder (who directed 300 and the recent MAN OF STEEL), the film will be directed by Noam Murro and will star Eva Green, Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro and Sullivan Stapleton. It is set to release March 7th, 2014. (Warner Bros. Pictures)
300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE official synopsis: Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sulivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
