Naomi Watts replaces Jessica Chastain in the Princess Diana biopic Caught In Flight
If you saw a movie in 2011, chances are good Jessica Chastain was in it. The actress that seems to be everywhere was lining up projects in 2012 as well and one such project that had her fans excited was CAUGHT IN FLIGHT, which is set to explore the enigmatic Princess Diana and her tumultuous relationship/affair with Dr. Hasnat Khan. Well, news came out from Berlin that Jessica Chastain is out and Naomi Watts is in to play the late Princess. The film is set to be directed by DOWNFALL director Oliver Hirschbiegel, based off a script by Stephen Jeffreys (THE LIBERTINE).
Although I would have liked to see Jessica Chastain in the role, Naomi Watts is obviously very capable of tackling complex characters. This will be a return to leading lady status of sorts since Watts has gone relatively unnoticed the past few years playing smaller parts. Filming is set to begin on CAUGHT IN FLIGHT in the U.K. later this year.
