Natalie Portman signs on for a Western called Jane Got A Gun
Natalie Portman is one of America’s sweethearts (move over Julia Roberts, your reign has ended) and it’s been a little tough not seeing her take on as many roles as she has in the past. With the success of BLACK SWAN which won her an Academy Award as well as becoming a first time mother, Natalie Portman seems to be taking a break from being in front of the cameras and she has become a bit more choosey in her roles. So that’s why we’re happy to announced that Natalie Portman will be teaming up with director Lynne Ramsay (WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN) for the Western JANE GOT A GUN.
As stated before, JANE GOT A GUN will be a Western that follows a woman (Natalie Portman) in the Old West who desperately tries to convince her ex-lover to protect her and her outlaw husband who has been wounded by her husband’s former gang. No word yet on who else is being looked at to play the roles of ex-lover and husband, but I’m eagerly awaiting to see who will star alongside Natalie Portman. JANE GOT A GUN was written by Brian Duffield who is most known for YOUR BRIDESMAID IS A BITCH.
Natalie Portman can next be seen in LAWLESS (which is still a working titled) as well as KNIGHT OF CUPS, both films from Terrence Malick, as well as THOR 2. All three of these films are set to come out in 2013. With this busy schedule there’s a good chance JANE GOT A GUN won’t start shooting until early next year. (The Hollywood Reporter)
