Neil Gaiman's American Gods being adapated and coming soon

Neil Gaiman fans can collectively squeal, as we have learned that his famous 2001 novel AMERICAN GODS is being adapted into a feature length film. The story follows an ex-convict named Shadow, who upon being released from prison discovers some terrifying secrets about his wife and the world he now lives is in which is secretly filled with mythological creatures and gods from history. And not only is AMERICAN GODS coming to the big screen, Gaiman says that there’s some serious power behind the camera as well. He says, “There is one cinematographer and director on board who has many, many Oscars and is I think is a genius. I love the fact that he fell in love with this about six or seven years ago and has not give up and just kept coming back and coming back.” Hmmm, a director who has many, many Oscars- Steven Spielberg, James Cameron or Peter Jackson? Each of these directors have three Oscars so it’s definitely possible, what do you think?

I have to admit that AMERICAN GODS has been sitting on my bookshelf to be read for a year or more and now it’s just been shot to the top of the reading list. I’ll be keeping a watchful eye as to how this film progresses.
