New images of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone from The Amazing Spider-Man show up

I admit, at first I was a little upset about the SPIDER-MAN reboot. Then after hearing about Marc Webb’s involvement, the cast, and the story; I was pretty pumped. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN will take Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) back to his early college days when he first meets up with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Peter comes into his powers and grows up all while facing a villain that he first came to know as a mentor, Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans).
Entertainment Weekly has provided a hi-res look at their upcoming July 22nd cover. Garfield dressed in the Spidey suit is the center of attention. The magazine has provided a few tidbits:
“EW can also exclusively confirm that Rhys Ifans will be playing Doc Conners, who, in an experiment gone wrong, transforms into one of Spider-Man’s most formidable foes ever, the Lizard.”
“Four years after Spider-Man 3, starring Tobey Maguire, The Amazing Spider-Man promises to be a “more contemporary,” “more gritty,” and “more character-driven” look at the comic book hero. He’s a hero the 27-year-old Garfield knows well. Growing up, “I related to Peter Parker [Spidey’s alter ego] so much because I felt like someone else inside,” he says. “I loved the comic books and the animated TV series and I even dressed up as Spider-Man as a kid.”
“Adds Webb: “Ultimately what this movie is about is a kid who grows up looking for his father and finds himself. And that’s a Spider-Man story we haven’t seen before.”
/Film also had some very lo-res photos from the magazine. I provided the ones that weren’t too blurry. Also be on the look out for a trailer for the film coming with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.
