Nicholas Hoult and Caleb Landry Jones set to play Beast and Banshee in X-Men: First Class

More casting news is rolling in for Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, this time with two of the lesser known heroes from the comics; Beast and Banshee. Nicholas Hoult (A SINGLE MAN) will be playing Beast while Caleb Landry Jones will be playing Banshee. Jones had a bit part in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN and then a three episode arc on ‘Friday Night Lights’, but other than that, he’s a virtual unknown. As for Hoult, it seems odd to cast him as Beast since the biggest thing that stuck out to me in A SINGLE MAN was the fact he looked like a porcelain doll. But of course, this is a much different role for him.
They join the cast that already includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Alice Eve. We don’t know who else from the X-Men universe Vaughn is planning on including, but I have to assume Cyclops will play a big part, so we should be hearing more casting news in the coming days/weeks.
