Nicolas Cage bringing The Sorcerer’s Apprentice to Blu-ray in November

Posted by: Brad Sturdivant

As much as I’ve always enjoyed the films from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, I can’t help but take some pleasure in his recent box office troubles.  With two box office, financial duds this summer in THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE and PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, the guy needs a hit pretty desperately.  I think that speaks more to the problem with society in that we actually enjoy it when someone seemingly untouchable falls from the pedestal.  But to be fair to Mr. Bruckheimer, both films were actually pretty fun, they just didn’t seem to be able to click with American audiences.

THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE hits Blu-ray on November 30th in both a 2 disc and 3 disc special editions.  The special features include eight featurettes: The Science Of Sorcery, Making Magic Real, Fantasia: Reinventing A Classic, The Fashionable Drake Stone, The Grimhold: An Evil Work Of Art, The Encantus, Wolves & Puppies, The World’s Coolest Car along with some deleted scenes, outtakes and a couple of Easter eggs.
