Olga Kurylenko replaces Jessica Chastain in Tom Cruise's Oblivion

Olga Kurylenko

First, let me point out that the Joseph Kosinski sci-fi film starring Tom Cruise was once called OBLIVION and then it was called HORIZONS and now it’s “between names”.  But until they decide on a name, I’m going to continue to think of it as OBLIVION. The casting process for a female costar to appear opposite Tom Cruise has been a long and daunting one, but it was seemingly over when Jessica Chastain hopped on board.  Well, she’s apparently decided that after starring in every film in 2011, she’s going to skip a few in 2012 and has dropped the film.  In her place is former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko.

Also joining the film is British actress Andrea Riseborough, who was in HAPPY GO LUCKY and NEVER LET ME GO.  The film has an exciting premise and takes place in a world above the earth’s surface, which is inhabited by an alien race.  Things start to unravel when a drone repairman, Jack, discovers a mysterious woman in a pod.  Kurylenko will play Jack’s wife while Riseborough will play the mysterious woman.
