BUTTER was once dubbed an Oscar hopeful, but after a disappointing premiere at the Telluride festival, it seems everyone has backed off that notion as the film is now slated for a March, 2012 release. the film is an odd one as it centers on a woman that takes up butter carving and supposedly incorporates various elements of race, religion and politics into the fold. But even with a star-studded cast and lofty ambitions, the Jim Field Smith directed film seems to have lost momentum.
Below you can find several new images from the film, including our first look at Olivia Wilde as a stripper. I’m still not sure what to think about this film, but the fact the Weinsteins aren’t going to try to push it for an award speaks volumes. The film stars Jennifer Garner, Hugh Jackman, Alicia Silverstone, Ashley Greene and newcomer Yara Shahidi.
