Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst set to reunite for Cities with Clive Owen

Orlando Bloom’s career is one of the biggest mysteries in Hollywood. After LORD OF THE RINGS, superstardom was practically gift-wrapped and handed to the guy. But then he had a string of so-so and not so great movies, then he disappeared and now he’s back with another round of questionable roles. First and foremost, there’s THE THREE MUSKETEERS. In his defense, he was actually pretty good in that, so maybe he just needed something to get his feet wet. Now the actor has signed on to star in the financial crisis movie CITIES with his ELIZABETHTOWN co-star Kirsten Dunst. The film will be directed by Roger Donaldson and links three stories together, the first is about a greedy hedge fund manager (Clive Owen), the second follows a Mumbai cop investigating colleagues (Anil Kapoor) being one of them and the last storyline is about a London couple getting into buying property.
For the record, starring with Kirsten Dunst probably isn’t the best way for anyone to rebuild their career, but the film sounds like it could work. Dunst herself has started taking on more dramatic roles and has been doing very well. There’s no word on who Bloom will play, but chances are good he’s one half of the London couple.
