Owen Wilson is looking to join Tina Fey in Admission
Well over a year ago, Tina Fey signed on to star in Paul Weitz’s (AMERICAN PIE) new film ADMISSION, which is based off the book of the same name by Jean Hanff Korelitz. The story revolves around a college admission clerk that starts an affair with one of her much younger students. Since that announcement last January, we haven’t heard a peep from the film. But today we learn that funnyman Owen Wilson is circling a role as an English teacher at an alternative high school that falls in love with Fey’s character. He hasn’t signed on yet, but it’s looking like he’ll take the part.
It’s too early to judge whether or not this concept will work, but right now it kind of sounds like everything we’ve seen from Tina Fey over the past several years. They might as well name her character Liz Lemon and be done with it. But hey, Fey still makes me laugh, so I’m game for it. Weitz is looking to start filming this summer, as soon as Tina Fey wraps up her work on ’30 Rock’.
