Pacific Rim adds another fighting monster and robot to their poster collection
Yesterday saw two new posters for PACIFIC RIM (click the link to see the posters), featuring USA robot Gipsy Danger and Category 4 monster Otachi. Today we get a couple more, this time featuring Category 4 monster Leatherback and Australian robot Striker Eureka, who looks to be one of the tougher robots for the humans. As I said before, I like this new way of marketing the monsters and robots like boxers, full of personal stats on their posters. I’m happy to see this continue and can’t wait to see who’s next on these character posters. PACIFIC RIM will star Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Day, Clifton Collins Jr., Rinko Kikuchi, Robert Maillet and Burn Gorman. The Guillermo del Toro film will hit 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on July 12. (Warner Bros.)
PACIFIC RIM official synopsis: When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
