Peter Jackson talks 3D in the latest production video from The Hobbit

Posted by: Brad Sturdivant

It has been quiet in the world of Hobbit-dom lately.  After a flurry of images from the set, an then the individual photos of the 13 dwarves, things have slowed down.  But today director Peter Jackson released another production video from the set and this time, the talk was on the use of 3D.  It’s a pretty technical driven video, but he did offer up a few cool tidbits, like the fact he said he would have sot THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy in 3D i he had been able to.  So he’s completely on board with the 3D idea, but he makes it sound pretty cool and he seems he knows what he’s doing.

THE HOBBIT stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Stephen Fry, Bret McKenzie, James Nesbitt and Evangeline Lilly.  THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY hits theaters on December 14th, 2012.
