You may have heard of a little superhero film entitled SUPER from James Gunn. It only has a star studded cast that includes: Ellen Page, Rainn Wilson, Nathan Fillion, Linda Cardellini, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon, ring a bell? It’s been flying a bit under the radar with the release of other superhero films like KICK-ASS, but from only the photos below, I think it’s going to be much better. The story follows a goofy guy (Wilson) who decides to become a superhero to take on a drug dealer (Bacon) that stole his wife (Tyler). Along the way he picks up a teenager, Libby (Page), that becomes his sidekick.

This film has a limited opening on April 1, 2011 and the following week will be opening in over 20 more cities as well as become available on VOD. I’m bummed that SUPER is getting such a limited release, but maybe it’ll get enough buzz for a wider release later on. Either way I’m there, because I adore Nathan Fillion so I’ll watch anything he’s a part of.
