Pride and Prejudice and Zombies most likely to be directed by Craig Gillespie

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES has been rolling around Lionsgate without a director for quite some time. There have been a few directors attached (Mike White is the most noted) before dropping out, but it appears that the studio has settled on their guy, Craig Gillespie. Gillespie has several different projects under his belt including MR. WOODCOCK, LARS AND THE REAL GIRL and he’s directed episodes of ‘United States of Tara’. In his most recent project, FRIGHT NIGHT, he’s worked with Colin Farrell in the remake about a kid whose next door neighbor is a vampire. Since Lionsgate and Gillespie are still in negotiations there’s no start and no cast yet attached but expect to see the ball rolling shortly.
Originally Natalie Portman was pegged to play Elizabeth Bennett in this film but she has since dropped out, so now we get to speculate as to who should get the coveted role. I know she’s a little young to play the part, but I think Chloe Moretz would be a good choice or even Hailee Steinfeld. Of course, by the time this thing really gets off the ground those two may be in the appropriate age range.
