Quentin Tarantino thinks Toy Story 3 and The Social Network were the best of 2010

I don’t like admitting this since I am a critic, but sometimes it’s more fun to read what people in the industry think are the best films of the year than actual critics. Not many people take the time to put together an actual list, but Quentin Tarantino is the exception. I personally think Tarantino is the most consistently great director around today, but sometimes his taste in movies is questionable. He’s all over the place, much like the way he talks. Below is his list, complete with runner-ups and a couple of comments. Aside from GREENBERG (which I consider one of the worst films in 2010), I don’t completely disagree with his choices.
There are two glaring omissions; the first being INCEPTION, which I felt was the best movie of 2010 and SOMEWHERE, which I hated but won the Venice Film Festival while Tarantino was the jury president. I’d like to think that this is Tarantino’s way of admitting he screwed up royally by letting SOMEWHERE win or that he had no control over it in the first place.
1. Toy Story 3
2. The Social Network
3. Animal Kingdom
4. I Am Love
5. Tangled
6. True Grit
7. The Town
8. Greenberg
9. Cyrus
10. Enter the Void (“Hands down best credit scene of the year … Maybe best credit scene of the decade. One of the greatest in cinema history.” – QT)
