Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page in the Super trailer

Finally, we are getting to see a trailer for the upcoming James Gunn directed film SUPER. The movie stars: Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon and Nathan Fillion and follows an ordinary guy (Wilson) who becomes a superhero in order to essentially win back his wife (Tyler) from the drug dealer (Bacon) she’s left him for. Along the way in his quest to fight crime, the Crimson Bolt picks up a sidekick in the form of an eccentric teen played by Ellen Page. SUPER also stars Nathan Fillion and Linda Cardellini and opens in theaters on April 1, 2011.
I think Rainn Wilson is hilarious and I have a feeling that the line “Shut up crime!” will be one of those we’ll hear for awhile, it just has a nice ring to it. I’m not sure how well this film will do at the box office, as it just hasn’t been promoted much, but I think it will be one of those diamond in the roughs in 2011.
