Ray Liotta is the most recent actor to join the mobster comedy COGAN’S TRADE from director Andrew Dominik. He joins a stellar cast that already includes: Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Casey Affleck, James Gandolfini, Sam Rockwell, Mark Ruffalo and Richard Jenkins. The story follows an enforcer (Pitt) who is investigating a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game. Ray Liotta is set to play Mark “Markie” Trattman, a hustler who runs the game in a hotel room. The film will begin shooting later this year in New Orleans and will be co-produced by Pitt’s company Plan B. COGAN’S TRADE will be released sometime early 2012.
I’m totally shocked that Ray Liotta will be playing a seedy hustler- what?! I’ve never seen him in a role like that, think he can handle it? In all seriousness, I think it might be required to stick Liotta into any mob movie made in Hollywood, it’s just one of those unspoken rules.
