Rebecca Hall and Guy Pearce being replaced by Clive Owen and Andrea Riseborough in Shadow Dancer

Director James Marsh has announced that his thriller SHADOW DANCER is starting to move forward, but a different cast will be in place. Originally set to star in the film based on events that happened in Ireland in the 1960’s were Rebecca Hall and Guy Pearce. For reasons currently unknown (but most likely scheduling issues) Hall and Pearce have dropped out and have been replaced by Clive Owen (CHILDREN OF MEN and INSIDE JOB) and Andrea Riseborough (NEVER LET ME GO and MADE IN DAGENHAM). The film follows a former IRA terrorist turned informant who is arrested for a bombing attempt and must reveal her past so she can see her children again. Filming is set to start next month in Dublin.

I think Clive Owen is a superb actor, especially in thrillers. Not gonna lie, it would have been nice to see Rebecca Hall in this role but I guess you just can’t have everything.

Clive Owen
