Jack Reacher Film Review, Synopsis, Plot: Riding high off of the success of last year’s MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL, Tom Cruise has made his grand return to the top of the A-list, solidifying his status as one of the only true box office movie stars currently working today. In JACK REACHER, Tom Cruise is returning to the action genre with the big screen adaptation of the popular Lee Child’s character Jack Reacher. Jack Reacher has appeared in print 18 different times, including his own series of novels and a handful of short stories. Fans have been eager to give their opinions with a Jack Reacher movie review and in December, 2012, they’ll finally get their chance.

The movie will focus mainly on the novel ‘One Shot’, which finds Jack Reacher being asked to look into a murder case for a sniper friend of his. He immediately notices that something isn’t right and that his friend has been framed. Jack Reacher teams up with a beautiful young lawyer to go after the guys that are pulling the strings. But Reacher plays by his own rules and when the guys he’s after show how ruthless they can be, Reacher decides to match them shot for shot.
Jack Reacher is one of the more famous characters in modern literature, being described as a loner, ex-military investigator that’s known for taking the law into his own hands. He’s never been married, has no kids and his parents were killed when he was younger. When it was announced Tom Cruise would be playing Jack Reacher, there were groans from some fans of the novel, mainly because Jack Reacher is written as being 6’ 5’’, with a very muscular build. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, is notoriously short and does not have a naturally muscular physique. Perhaps learning a lesson from his starring in INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE in which his casting was met with equal disdain from Anne Rice fans, Cruise actually met with Lee Child and got his blessing before he officially accepted the role.
Tom Cruise is one of the most successful actors working today and arguably, one of the most talented. He has yet to give a bad performance and seems to give 100% to everything he does. So although fans may be upset that Jack Reacher isn’t being played by someone like Dwayne Johnson, Tom Cruise will embody what Lee Child had in mind for the popular character.
