Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart conquer the Fourth of July with Twilight: Eclipse

I’m guessing this is my second to last news update about the box office success of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, but if the numbers for Sunday and Monday prove higher than expected, who knows how many more there will be. But the other day, we told you that Eclipse opened up internationally to $19 million on Wednesday, but at that time, we didn’t know the opening numbers for Thursday and Friday. Well, today we learn that Eclipse has generated over $100 million in 42 countries/territories. So for those keeping track at home, that’s over $260 million worldwide. Oh, and the film only cost $68 million to make. So maybe the huge paydays for Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN aren’t so outrageous after all.
I guess the $100 million internationally shouldn’t surprise me after the $19 million on opening day, but I’m still a little taken aback by the international appeal of the main stars and the saga in general. Even though it won’t hit the Fourth of July box office record, this film is an incredible success. Oh, and with all these Twilight stories, I’m running out of Eclipse pictures of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, so here’s one of Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz, who have been kind of the forgotten stars of the sequel.
