Robert Pattinson is circling a role as King Arthur in Pendragon

Robert Pattinson of course has the Twilight movies on the horizon, BEL-AMI coming soon and COSMOPOLIS right after that, but past COSMOPOLIS, the actor doesn’t have much on the schedule. One role that the actor is reportedly circling is that of King Arthur in a planned retelling of the legend called PENDRAGON. Sylvain White is currently attached to direct the film, who previously directed STOMP THE YARD and the forgettable THE LOSERS. I can only assume that R-Patz was getting jealous that Kristen Stewart was getting so much attention for rebooting the legend of Snow White that he himself is now looking to become the face of a classic legend.

So what do you think? Robert Pattinson as King Arthur? I’m not sure I see Bob Patty as a King, but I guess it depends on what kind of retelling they’re going for. The title suggests it will focus on King Arthur’s early days as he becomes king, but if they’re going for the Lancelot-Guinevere angle, then I’m out. Of course, this is in the very early stages and all we know at this point is that Pattinson’s name has been associated with the role and that he’s mildly interested. Which, in Hollywood, could mean nothing or could mean anything. We’ll just have to wait and see what he decides.
