Anyone who is a movie fan is probably familiar with the Razzie’s, but if not they are basically the opposite of the Academy Awards, as in they celebrate the worst films, actors and directors of the past year.  Even though no one really takes them seriously, the Razzies do tend to have their fingers on the pulse of what critics and overall movie audiences think about films.  Past winners include such greats as: John Travolta for his role in BATTLEFIELD: EARTH, Halle Berry in CATWOMAN and last year Sandra Bullock managed to win a Razzie for ALL ABOUT STEVE while the same year winning the Oscar for THE BLIND SIDE. So what follows are the highlights of the Razzie Awards nominations for 2010, whether you agree with them or not.

In the lead with Razzie nominations for 2010 are M. Night Shyamalan’s effort THE LAST AIRBENDER, which is competing against TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE and cast for most nods.  For the TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE installment, here are the nominees: for Worst Actor you have Robert Pattinson (up for TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE as well as REMEMBER ME) and Taylor Lautner (for TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE and VALENTINE’S DAY), Worst Actress sees Kristen Stewart nominated and Jackson Rathbone is nominated for both his roles in TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE and THE LAST AIRBENDER (bad year for Mr. Rathbone). The third vamp film was also nominated for: Worst Picture, Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Director (David Slade), Worst Screenplay and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel. THE LAST AIRBENDER was just behind TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE with eight nominations (ECLIPSE had nine).

The Razzie Award winners will be announced February 26th, which is the night before the Academy Awards.
