Robert Pattinson thinks he may be too old to play Edward if Stephenie Meyer continues the Twilight saga

Robert Pattinson in Berlin

A shaved and almost unrecognizable Robert Pattinson took some time today while in Berlin promoting the premiere of BEL AMI to give his thoughts on the desire of Lionsgate/Summit to continue the Twilight series past THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2.  The news might not be what Twi-hards were hoping to hear when he said: “I’d be curious what Stephenie would write, but I just think I’d probably be too old, I’m already too old. But yeah, it’d be kind of interesting.”  That’s hardly a definitive “yes” or “no” in terms of wanting to return, but it seems at the very least he’s leaving the door open either way.  As far as being too old, I’d say with the amount of makeup they put on him anyway, he could play Edward into his 40’s.

My gut feeling says that Stephenie Meyer will get a truckload of money to write another book and she will do so somewhat quickly.  Then they’ll offer Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart even more money to come back and they will.  It’s easy to say you only care about making good movies, but when you get offered $20+ million (which is what I think they will get), it’s nearly impossible to say no.  Obviously, we’re a long ways away from having any real news on the subject, but we’ll keep you posted as snippets come out.
