Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that the rock musical comedy ROCK OF AGES (click the link to read the review), starring Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige and Bryan Cranston, will be available in a Triple Play edition Blu-ray on October 8th, 2012.

Directed by Adam Shankman, ROCK OF AGES is based on the Broadway show of the same name and is set in the 1980s at an LA rock dive called Bourbon Rooms. When the owner Dennis Dupree (Alec Baldwin) enlists the help of an old rock legend named Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) to help him keep the good times rolling, their story collides with two young lovers, Drew (Diego Boneta) and Sherrie (Julianne Hough) who are going to the big city to follow their dreams. ROCK OF AGES features music numbers from the 1980s from bands like Foreigner, Def Leppard, Poison and Journey.

Rock of Ages BD

ROCK OF AGES kind of tanked at the box office only bringing in over $38 million which is pretty awful considering the budget was $75 million. Most critics found it dull and overacted but it may be worth checking out just to see Tom Cruise play a washed up rock star. Check out the trailer for ROCK OF AGES below.
