Rose Byrne steps in for Greta Gerwig in The Place Beyond the Pines

Rose Byrne has been getting tons of attention when it comes to big screen roles lately. The actress has always been around but in smaller roles and nothing really high profile/big budget. It seems that Byrne is on the rise again with parts in BRIDESMAIDS and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.
Now she’s moving into a role that was originally thought to be occupied by Greta Gerwig. The truth of the matter is, Gerwig was never attached to the part in Derek Cianfrance’s THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES. Byrne will be joining the cast as the wife to a police officer turned politician played by Bradley Cooper who is on the hunt for a bank robber (Ryan Gosling).
Cianfrance recently teamed with Gosling on BLUE VALENTINE and now he’s looking to do something with a little more violence. Shooting on the project has already begun.
Gerwig is on the fast track due to performance in films like GREENBERG and BAGHEAD. Sadly, the actress had to drop out of Cianfrance’s film because of scheduling conflicts.
