Rosemarie DeWitt joins Matt Damon and John Krasinski in Promised Land
Not everyone in America knows who Rosemarie DeWitt is, but it’s only a matter of time before she lands that premium role that pushes into the limelight. I remember her from her incredible performance in the all around great RACHEL GETTING MARRIED with Anne Hathaway, but she’s done several films, including CINDERELLA MAN and THE COMPANY MEN, as well as parts in TV shows like ‘Mad Men’ and ‘United States of Tera’. Now she’s landed the female lead opposite Matt Damon and John Krasinski in the film PROMISED LAND.
As you may recall, this was the film that Matt Damon was set to make his directorial debut on, but later bailed and turned the director’s chair over to Gus Van Sant. Then Warner Bros. dropped out of financing the film, only to see Focus Features step in. So it’s gone through it’s fair share of hiccups, but it seems to be on the right track now. Not much is known about the film other than it’s based off an idea by Dave Eggers and John Krasinski and is considered a “capra-esque” story about two rival salesmen. Shooting should get underway soon.
