Fox Searchlight Home Video has officially announced that the romantic comedy RUBY SPARKS, from directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE) and starring Paul Dano, Zoe Kazan, Chris Messina, Annette Bening, Antonio Banderas, Steve Coogan and Alia Shawkat, will be available on Blu-ray October 30th, 2012.

RUBY SPARKS follows a novelist named Calvin Weir-Fields (Paul Dano) who is struggling with writer’s block. By getting his creative juices flowing, Calvin finds romance by creating a female character named Ruby Sparks (Zoe Kazan) whom he thinks will love him and he can will into existence.

RUBY SPARKS only received a limited release in theaters, but it did end up grossing over $2 million at the box office. It received fairly decent reviews and may be one of those films to catch when it comes to Blu-ray.
