Russell Brand and Helen Mirren in Arthur coming to Blu-ray

Warner Home Entertainment has announced that the comedy remake ARTHUR, starring Russell Brand, Helen Mirren, Greta Gerwig and Jennifer Garner, will be making its way to Blu-ray on July 15, 2011. The film follows a spoiled rich millionaire named Arthur (Brand) who is being forced into a marriage with a woman he doesn’t love (Garner) in order to maintain his wealth. However, he decides to go after true love and along the way meets a girl (Gerwig) who may just help him grow up. The comedy did alright at the box office, pulling in just over $32 million which was a moderate success and secured  Brand’s future in Hollywood for at least a bit.

I didn’t really care for the original film ARTHUR, but I will admit that I’m quite curious to see this movie. It got pretty good reviews so it may be one of those mindless Friday night fun films. Special features include:

Arthur Blu-ray

  • Arthur Unsupervised: Russell Brand and director Jason Winer expose all the footage, photographs, and ad-libs not included in the theatrical cut
  • Gag reel
  • Additional scenes: Over 10 minutes of deleted footage
