Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson looking to star in Darren Aronofsky's Noah
We’ve been reading about Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic NOAH for a while now, but when a guy goes from making intense, character driven dramas to trying to put together a major blockbuster (with Biblical undertones, no less), it’s understandable he would have some trouble getting it off the ground. Although Christian Bale was once attached to star, it looks like he got tied up with other projects, so Aronofsky is in search of another male lead and it looks like that may come in the form of Russell Crowe.
But these days, Russell Crowe alone isn’t enough to put people in theaters, so word has it that Liam Neeson is also being eyed for a part, perhaps the lead villain role. Shooting was set to happen this summer with a 2013 release date, but without some major talent signed on ( I think it will take more than Crowe and Neeson), I don’t see this one starting any time soon.
